Did you have to take out a loan to buy your DeSoto?  I know something about used car financing and have built a small website to talk about it.  Used car financing, especially for older automobiles is much more flexible than new car financing. As anyone who has worked on an extensive (expensive) restoration knows, the costs add up. However, your average banker is unlikely to have much interest in financing for a car he can't look up in the blue book. You have to get creative. That also means you can get taken, because the normal banking protections won't be there to protect you.
